Flying from London to Madrid, I found myself on an Iberia-operated flight that turned out to be more confusing than luxurious. The ticket was originally sold by Finnair as part of a longer itinerary, and when I decided to upgrade the Iberia segment, things got messy. Finnair’s reservation system completely lost track of my London–Madrid flight. It took a small army of Finnair staff in Helsinki to piece together what happened, just to ensure my checked bag could make the journey. Ironically, the only airline that could see the full itinerary was Iberia itself—a curious glitch for two oneworld partners supposedly sharing data seamlessly.

Lounge 39 at Shanghai Pudong T1 is the Smelliest Lounge Ever
Airports often pride themselves on their premium lounges, marketing them as havens of comfort where travelers can relax, recharge, and enjoy a taste of luxury before boarding. Unfortunately, Lounge 39 at Shanghai Pudong International Airport’s Terminal 1 does the exact opposite. Despite its bold “First Class” branding, the reality inside is crowded, smelly and it’s very hot in there.

Korean Air Lounge at Jeju Airport is Underwhelming
Visiting airport lounges is usually a highlight of any trip, but my recent experience at the Korean Air lounge in Jeju Airport was a little different. I was pleasantly surprised to get access on a domestic flight thanks to my SkyTeam Elite Plus status, even though Korean Air is not one of the SkyTeam airlines that is implementing domestic lounge access. The lounge itself left me with mixed feelings.

Iberia lost my bag – what a mess
In general, a lost bag isn’t that big of a deal if you are flying with an airline that does things professionally given that most bags are found and delivered in around 24 hours. I learned that Iberia is far from professional when a bag goes missing.

Review: Krakow Business Lounge isn’t Much
The airport in Krakow is quite small and confusing. The first thing I learned was not to trust the monitors given that they showed that check-in for my flight hadn’t even started and no check-in desks were to be allocated for another half an hour. Walking a bit I found that the check-in was actually open. But how is the lounge in the city that unarguably has the grumpiest people I have ever seen in my life?
