Finding an arrivals lounge is becoming increasingly rare at airports around the world, making the Barcelona Airport Arrivals Lounge a valuable facility for eligible travelers. While it is not a large premium lounge designed to rival the flagship lounges of major European hubs, it fulfills its purpose exceptionally well by offering a comfortable place to relax, enjoy breakfast, and recharge after landing.
During my visit, I had more than six hours between flights, and having access to this lounge made the wait considerably more pleasant until check-in for my onward flight opened.
Where Is the Barcelona Arrivals Lounge?
The arrivals lounge is located in Terminal 1 at Barcelona-El Prat Airport.

After exiting the arrivals area, walk towards the Barcelona–Madrid shuttle section. Once you reach the shuttle area, turn right and continue towards the Business Centre. The arrivals lounge is located inside the business center, check in at the reception.
Even if your incoming flight arrives at Terminal 2, you can still use the lounge as long as you meet the entry requirements.
How to Access the Barcelona Airport Arrivals Lounge
Entry is reserved exclusively for arriving passengers. The lounge staff will scan the boarding pass from the flight you have just completed, so make sure you keep it available after landing.
Access is available through eligible lounge membership programs such as Priority Pass and similar credit card lounge benefits. Unlike many airport lounges, this facility does not partner with airlines, meaning that flying in business class or holding elite frequent flyer status does not grant complimentary access.
Guests are allowed to remain in the lounge for up to four hours, providing ample time to freshen up, have breakfast, or simply unwind after a flight.
Atmosphere and Seating
The Barcelona Arrivals Lounge is compact but welcoming. Rather than aiming for luxury, it offers a comfortable environment that feels more like a cozy living room than a busy airport waiting area.

One section features comfortable seating arranged around a television, creating a relaxed space to sit back after a journey. A separate dining area provides tables where guests can enjoy breakfast or catch up on work while having a coffee.

The intimate size of the lounge also contributes to its quiet atmosphere, making it a pleasant place to escape the terminal.
Food Selection
The breakfast offering is modest but satisfying, especially for an arrivals lounge.

Guests can choose from sandwiches, Spanish tortilla, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, and a selection of pastries. The variety is sufficient for a proper breakfast before heading into the city or continuing a journey.
While the food selection is not extensive compared with the premium lounges operated by major international airlines, it delivers exactly what most travelers need after their arrival.
Drinks Available
The beverage selection covers both soft drinks and alcoholic options.

Soft drinks include Coca-Cola, Fanta, fruit juices, and coffee, making it easy to grab either a refreshing cold drink or a much-needed caffeine boost after landing.

For those who prefer something alcoholic, both red and white wine are available throughout the day.
Is the Barcelona Arrivals Lounge Worth Visiting?
The Barcelona Airport Arrivals Lounge succeeds because it focuses on the specific needs of arriving passengers rather than trying to compete with the largest airline lounges in Europe.
It provides a comfortable place to sit, eat breakfast, enjoy a drink, and recover from a flight before continuing your day. Considering that very few airports still offer dedicated arrivals lounges, having this option in Barcelona is a genuine advantage for travelers with eligible lounge access.
For me, the lounge proved especially valuable during a long connection of more than six hours. Instead of waiting in the public terminal until check-in for my next flight opened, I had a quiet place to relax, enjoy breakfast, and recharge before continuing my journey. If you have access through a lounge membership program, it is well worth taking advantage of this overlooked facility at Barcelona-El Prat Airport.
