If you are flying through Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport (XMN) and have access to First Class Lounge 7 in Terminal 3, you may be wondering whether it lives up to its premium name. While the lounge offers an attractive interior and a comfortable place to relax before an international flight, the overall experience falls short of what most travelers would expect from an international first class lounge. The limited beverage selection and inconsistent food service make it feel much closer to a standard business class lounge than a true first class facility.
Location
First Class Lounge 7 is located in the international departures area of Terminal 3. Finding it is remarkably straightforward, as the airport has excellent signage directing passengers toward Lounge 7. Simply follow the signs after clearing immigration and security, and you’ll arrive without any difficulty. Its convenient location makes it an easy stop before boarding your flight.

Design and Atmosphere
One of the lounge’s strongest features is its appearance. The space has been divided into several distinct areas, creating a pleasant environment for different types of travelers. There is a dedicated dining section, comfortable seating for relaxing, and a traditional tea area for those looking for a quieter experience.

An unusual addition is a small museum-style display that adds a touch of local character to the lounge. While it is not extensive, it gives the space a unique element that sets it apart from many airport lounges.

The décor aims for an upscale look with elegant furnishings and marble-effect tables. Although the tables are imitation marble rather than genuine stone, the overall aesthetic is modern, clean, and sophisticated, making a positive first impression.

Food Selection
The quality of the food depends greatly on when you visit. During breakfast, the buffet consists mainly of vegetables, pastries, and a limited selection of hot dishes. While everything is presented attractively, the variety feels somewhat limited for a lounge marketed as first class.

The lunch service is considerably more appealing. Several hot dishes, including beef and chicken, are flavorful and satisfying. There is also a chef preparing fresh noodle dishes to order, which wasn’t much to be honest.

Unfortunately, the buffet service is inconsistent. Once some of the more popular dishes were emptied, they were not replenished, leaving later guests with noticeably fewer choices. This lack of attention to refilling the buffet significantly detracts from the dining experience.

Drinks
The beverage selection is another area where First Class Lounge 7 disappoints. Soft drinks include the standard Coca-Cola products alongside tea and coffee, matching what is commonly found in many Chinese airport lounges.

Alcoholic beverages are surprisingly limited for an international first class lounge. Only two different wines and beer were available, with no broader premium selection that would normally be expected in a lounge carrying the “first class” label.

The coffee deserves a special mention for all the wrong reasons. Despite the lounge’s elegant presentation, the coffee was exceptionally poor and easily one of the weakest aspects of the overall experience.
Overall Verdict
Xiamen Airport First Class Lounge 7 succeeds in providing a comfortable and visually attractive space to spend time before an international departure. Its multiple seating areas ans pleasant décor are the only highlights.
However, the lounge falls well short of the standards usually associated with international first class lounges. The inconsistent buffet service, limited alcoholic beverage selection, and disappointing coffee prevent it from delivering a truly premium experience. Travelers with access will still appreciate having a quiet place to relax, but expectations should be kept in check. Despite its name, this lounge feels much more like an average business class lounge than a flagship first class facility.
