If you’re flying from Barcelona Airport Terminal 2, the Canudas Lounge is the only place to relax before your flight. Located in T2 after security, this lounge offers a comfortable escape from the busy terminal with modern seating, complimentary food and drinks and a surprisingly pleasant atmosphere.
One important detail that many travelers miss is that the Canudas Lounge is located before passport control. If you are flying to a non-Schengen destination outside the European Union, make sure you do not proceed through passport control before visiting the lounge, as you won’t be able to return afterward.
Where to Find the Canudas Lounge
The Canudas Lounge is somewhat hidden compared to other airport lounges, which helps keep it feeling quieter and more exclusive. After passing through security in Terminal 2, walk through the duty-free shopping area and continue until you see Enrique Tomas on your left-hand side. The entrance to the lounge is tucked away behind the restaurant, making it easy to miss if you are not actively looking for it.

Because of its location before passport control, the lounge is particularly convenient for passengers traveling within the Schengen Area. Travelers heading to destinations outside the EU should plan their visit carefully to avoid crossing the border checkpoint too early.

Modern Design and Comfortable Seating
One of the strongest aspects of the Canudas Lounge is its interior design. The lounge feels modern and well-maintained, offering a welcome contrast to the often crowded departure area of Terminal 2.

There is a wide variety of seating options available, making it easy to find a spot that suits your needs. Whether you want to work on a laptop, enjoy a meal, have a drink, or simply relax before boarding, the lounge provides plenty of comfortable spaces. The different seating zones help prevent the lounge from feeling crowded, even during busy periods.

Food Selection at the Canudas Lounge
The food offering is solid for a credit card-access lounge, although it is not particularly extensive when it comes to hot dishes.

During my visit, the cold buffet included fresh salads, pastries, ham, cheese, and other light snacks. The quality was good, and there was enough variety for a short pre-flight meal. The Spanish-inspired selection felt appropriate for Barcelona and offered more character than many airport lounges across Europe.

Hot food options were more limited. The main warm dishes consisted of sautéed mushrooms and tortilla, Spain’s famous potato omelet. While these options were enjoyable, travelers looking for a substantial hot meal may find the selection somewhat basic.

Drinks: Wine, Sparkling Wine, and More
Guests can choose from a wide range of soft drinks and several varieties of fruit juice throughout the day. Alcoholic beverages are also available, but limited to a selection of wines and sparkling wines. For travelers wanting to start their trip with a glass of local Spanish wine, the lounge offers a pleasant opportunity to do so without additional cost.

Final Verdict
For a lounge primarily accessed through credit card programs, the Canudas Lounge performs very well. In fact, it compares favorably with many similar lounges found at Madrid Airport, particularly in terms of atmosphere, seating and overall comfort.
What surprised me most was how closely the experience matches the lounges in Barcelona Airport’s Terminal 1. While T1 is generally considered the airport’s premium terminal, Canudas manages to deliver a very similar experience despite serving the lower-cost carriers that typically operate from Terminal 2.
If you have access through Priority Pass, LoungeKey, or a premium travel credit card, the Canudas Lounge is well worth a visit. Just remember that it is located before passport control, so passengers flying outside the European Union should stop by before proceeding to border control.
