Review: Krakow Business Lounge isn’t Much

The airport in Krakow is quite small and confusing. The first thing I learned was not to trust the monitors given that they showed that check-in for my flight hadn’t even started and no check-in desks were to be allocated for another half an hour. Walking a bit I found that the check-in was actually open. But how is the lounge in the city that unarguably has the grumpiest people I have ever seen in my life?

Location

Krakow business lounge is located close to gate 2. It’s a bit of a hike from the security check, but then again, you can’t really get lost on the way – it’s the only lounge at the airport. Just keep on walking and walking, and you will get there eventually.

Decoration

The lounge was packed and no wonder – it serves every single airline and credit card holders. People were sitting on both floors in rather typical lounge style seating. Armchairs, dining chairs and bar stools – the usual. The lounge is a bit of a bunker given that it doesn’t have any windows. Curiously, bathrooms are also hidden behind 3 different doors. I wonder if it’s a Polish thing.

Food

You can have your usual Eastern European cuisine, not really my cup of tea, but there’s some warm food options too. Salad, toasts and cereals are all available. It’s quite decent for a European contract lounge, if you are into the local cuisine, of course.

Drinks

There’s a typical good amount of drinks in the lounge, from juices and sodas to strong alcoholic beverages. This section represents a strong European average.

Conclusions

Going to Krakow business lounge once is an okay thing to do. It’s not as horrid as some European lounges, but it is not among the best either. I wouldn’t go there again for the sake of the lounge itself. Of course, if I happen to be in Krakow, I wouldn’t actively avoid it either. It just isn’t anything special.
